Police detective killer arrested

The police have arrested a 30-year-old man believed to be part of an armed robbery gang who killed a police detective – 

The police retrieved an AK 47 assault rifle, a cap gun and two motorbikes believed to have been used by the gang in committing the crime

 – Corporal Yaw Lakpao was shot dead at Kalba on Friday morning when he was ambushed by suspected armed robbers A 30 -year-old man, Ahmed Musah, believed to be part of an armed robbery gang who shot and killed a police detective, Corporal Yaw  Lakpao at Kalba in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District of the Northern Region on Friday has been arrested by the police.

Mr Ebenezer Tetteh, the Northern Regional Police PRO, told newsmen that they had to pursue Musah and his gang deep into the bush where he was arrested. The police retrieved an AK 47 assault rifle, a cap gun and two motorbikes believed to have been abandoned by the suspects. He said the items are believed to have been used by the robbers in the murder of the policeman.

Corporal Yaw Lakpao was shot dead at Kalba on Friday morning when he was ambushed by suspected armed robbers whilst he was on his way back home after his night duty. The police have intensified their search for the rest of the members of the suspected armed robbery gang. The body of the police detective has since been deposited at the Wa government hospital morgue
